Dennis Lockyer

It is with great sadness the Secretary has to report the passing of shipmate Dennis Lockyer on the 1st August 2000, aged 64.  Dennis Served on M.L. 3510 whilst in the flotilla.

Geoff Steen

The Secretary wishes to inform members of the passing of shipmate Geoff Steen on 9th December 2000, aged 67.  Geoff served on M.L. 3510 whilst in the flotilla.

They will be sadly missed by all members of the flotilla and our thoughts go out to their families.

Len Smith

Stoker Mechanic ML3511. I have to report the sad lost of Shipmate Len who passed away on 30th November 1994, he will be sadly missed.

 

 

William Brumfield

The Secretary wishes to inform members of the passing of shipmate William Brumfield.

William Brumfield served as a Petty Officer Motor Mechanic on M.L.3513 from 1956 till 1958.  He sadly passed away on the 8th May 2002,

Stanley Minett

The Secretary regrets to inform you of the passing of Lt. Commander Stanley Minett who passed away on the 23rd April 2002

Lt. Commander served in the Flotilla and HMS Tamar from 1953-1956

N.A. Burton

The Secretary regrets to inform you of the passing of Lt Commander N. A. Burton who passed away on the 2nd September 2002.

Lt Commander Burton served in the flotilla in 1949 on MFV (IMS) 1540.

The association has passed its condolences to his wife Daphine

John White

The Secretary regrets to inform you of the passing of John White who lived in South Africa.

John served on MMS 1536 from 1952-1954

This information was passed to me by a member of the association, our thoughts and condolences are with his family.

Edgar Ellis

The Secretary regrets to inform you of the passing of Lt Commander Edgar Ellis who passed away in December 2002.

Lt Commander Ellis was the Commanding Officer of LCA 1911 and served in the Flotilla from 1950 - 1952.

The association has passed its condolences to his wife.

Patrick Hamilton

The Secretary regrets to inform you of the passing of Lt Commander Patrick Hamilton who passed away in June 2004.

Lt Commander Hamilton was the Commanding Officer of M.L. 1329 from 1953-1954

The Association has passed its condolences to his son and other members of his family.

David Hall

It is with great sadness that the Secretary has to report to members the passing of David Hall in December 2003.

David was the Commanding Officer of IMS 1156 and ML 3513

The Association has passed its condolences to his wife Liz.

John Marlow

It is with great sadness the Secretary has to report the passing of shipmate John Marlow who passed away on 6th September 2004.

Dick  Dunsmure

 

The Secretary wishes to inform members that he has heard that shipmate Dick Dunsmure passed over the bar in 2004.

 

Arthur Maxted and the secretary have tried to contact Dick and members of his family but have had no replies to our letters and telephone calls.

 

Dick served on M.L.1326 in the flotilla from 1952-1956.

Ken Blewett

The Secretary wishes to inform members that he has heard that shipmate Ken Blewett passed over the bar on Monday 3rd April 2005.

The secretary has passed the condolences of the association to his wife, Jean

Norman Curtis

The Secretary wishes to inform members that he has heard from Rodney Beech that shipmate Norman Curtis passed over the bar.  Norman had only been a member for a short time.

The secretary has passed the condolences of the association to his wife.

Laurence Kilbee

The Secretary has been informed that Commander Laurence Kilbee passed over the bar in January 2006.  A service for our shipmate was held at St. John's Church, Eastbourne on Tuesday 17th January.

The Association Treasurer has been in touch with his family and the Association's condolences have been passed on.

Commander Kilbee, RNVR commanded an MTB in Hong Kong when the colony was still in British hands.

He was made an honorary member of the association for the work he carried out.

John Inskip

The Secretary has heard from shipmate Vince Hart the following information Shipmate John Inskip passed over the bar in March 2006

 

John will be sadly missed by all members of the Association, He had served on MFV(IMS) 1069 from 1949-1950.

 

The association’s condolences have been passed on to his wife Christine.

George  Sutton  B.E.M

 

It is with great sadness that the secretary has to report to members the passing of George Sutton BEM in the latter part of 2005.

 

 This information was passed on by Arthur Maxted and Vincent Hart.

 

George served in the 120th Minesweeping Sqdn on HMS Hovingham in Hong Kong 1956-1959

Peter Coulson

The Secretary wishes to inform members that Lt. Commander Peter Coulson passed 'over the bar' on Monday 24th April 2006.  He will be sadly missed.

Peter served on ML3512 in 1953.

The Association has passed on its sympathies to his wife Sylvia.

Graham Dance

The Secretary regrets to inform members that shipmate Telegraphist Graham Dance passed over the bar in the summer.

Graham served on MFV 1046 in 1952 and ML 1326 from 1952-54.

The Association has passed on its sympathies to Graham's wife.

Ken  Greenway

The secretary wishes to inform members that Ken Greenway passed over the bar in October 2007.

Ken served in the flotilla 1956-1958 on M.L.3503 and M.L.3510.

I have spoken to his wife who wishes to be a life member.

James Alexander

The Secretary regrets to inform members that shipmate James Alexander passed over the bar on Tuesday 19th February 2008.

James will sadly missed by all who knew him he served in the flotilla from 1952-1955, and has been a member since the association was formed.

The secretary regrets to inform association members that the above shipmate has Passed Over The Bar

 

Our condolences have been passed on to the family.  Rodney served in the flotilla on MMS 1536 from 1952-1954 

FRANK HULL

The secretary regrets to inform association members that the above shipmate has Passed Over The Bar.   Our condolences have been passed on to the family.

Frank served as Commanding Officer of ML 1326 from 1951-1952

STUART ROBERTSON

The secretary has heard from Peter Yeates that shipmate Stuart Robertson has passed over the bar; he will be sadly missed by all

members of the association.

 

Stuart served in the flotilla from  1956-1957 on M.Ls 3513 and 1328

 

Sympathies have been passed to his daughters.

Rodney Berger

It is with deep regret that the Secretary has to report to members that passing of Rodney Berger.

Rodney was the Commanding Officer of ML 1323 from 1951-1953.

His wife Heather informed the Association Rodney passed peacefully away on the 17th March 2009.

He will be sadly missed by the association.

David Dufty

It is with great sadness the Secretary has to report the passing of David Dufty.  His wife Mary informed the Association that he had dies on 27th November 2008.

David was the Commanding Officer of ML 3503 from 1954-1955.

He will be missed by the Association.

Derek Woolett

The secretary regrets to inform members that he has heard that Derek Wollett passed over the bar on the 26th March 2007.

 

Derek served in HMS Tamar from 1950-1952.

 

He will be missed by all in the association.

Alastair Cuthbert

The secretary wishes to inform member that Alastair Cuthbert has passed over the bar in Australia.

 

Alastair was the Commanding Officer of IMS 1103 and M.L 3513.

 

 

Ann has been made a Life Member of the association.

Roy Bennett

The secretary wishes to inform member that Roy Bennett has passed over the bar.  He served as the Engineer Officer at Small Ships Maintenance Base at Kowloon.

The association has passed its condolences to his family.

Gordon Cleaver B.E.M.

The secretary deeply regrets to inform members that our chairman Gordon has passed over the bar today Tuesday 28th October 2008.

He will be missed by all in the association.

Our thoughts go out to his wife Jean at this sad time.

C. Thorneycroft (TED)

The secretary  regrets to inform members that shipmate Ted Thornycroft passed over the bar on 3rd July 2009
Ted aged 89 had suffered from Parkinson's Disease for many years.
He was commanding officer of M.L.3512 and S.O.HKF (Afloat) 1949-1950 and Staff Officer (Plans) to Commodore HK 1950-1951
